Introduction

On May 9, 2025—just two days prior to Mother’s Day—an advanced screening of Final Destination: Bloodlines, the sixth installment in the Final Destination film series, took place in selected cinemas across the Philippines. The official showing date was on May 16, 2025.

Final Destination: Bloodlines serves as a prequel to the previous five films, but with a twist: death has taken on a familial aspect.

Why can it be considered a Mother’s Day Special Movie?

Even though the movie also focuses on the gore-fest aspects of killing each member of the family, it also shows the overprotective nature of the mother, Iris Campbell, by isolating herself with her family. Despite how her children, Howard and Darlene, treated her as if she were insane.

Also, she was not only protecting her family but also JB, a child who died last in Iris premonition. Even though they were not blood related, they helped each other in finding ways to cheat Death.

Moreover, Darlene, mother of Stefani and Charlie, made a sacrifice to save her children from Death by distancing herself from them, but Stefani misunderstood her actions as abandonment. In the end, Darlene protected her son, Charlie, but was killed by Death.

Plot Outline

• It started in 1968 in the Sky View Restaurant, when Iris Campbell had a premonition saving the lives of many people in that restaurant. 
• After 56 years, Stefani Reyes, granddaughter of Iris Campbell, had a series of nightmares of that disaster, and was confirmed by Iris Campbell that Death was now in their family.
• Iris Campbell was killed by the weather vane, aided by the fire extinguisher.
• Uncle Howard, the son of Iris Campbell, was killed by the lawn mower.
• Julia, daughter of Howard, was crushed by the garbage truck to death.
• It was revealed that Erik was not the son of Uncle Howard, hence it was not in Iris’ bloodlines.
• JB, also known as William Bludworth, revealed that he was the last to kill in the Sky View Disaster and also revealed that there was only one who escaped death, it was Kimberly Corman.
• Erik and Bobby, sons of Howard, were killed by the MRI Machine malfunction.
• Darlene, the daughter of Iris Campbell, was killed by a falling lamp post
• Both Stefani and Charlie were killed by the falling logs because of the derailing train.
• The movie was dedicated to Tony Todd, who played JB and passed away on November 06, 2024.
